As I went to Yellowstone this last weekend I decided to see if I could capture images of the one animal that has been eluding me for some time now. I have lived here in Montana all my life with the exception of the last 13 years in Alaska and this animal is in both Montana and Alaska ….. The animal that I am talking about is the “FOX”. I know there is going to be photographers out there that has the fox in their repertoire and good for them, but I don’t till now.

This day started out like it was going to be a nice sunny day and I was also going to see what other wildlife I could get images of, but I really was targeting the “FOX” ….. Before I got to the Park, I kept thinking that the “FOX” was going to stay out of reach for me or at some length that I could not get any decent image of.

I first started seeing the coyotes as I normally do and then the Buffalo, and then I started seeing the Elk, which I was taking images of all and as I was clicking away,I was feeling like once again the “FOX” was going to escape me once more……..THEN when I was driving along lamar valley road, just before the ranger station and the buffalo corrals I spotted him about 30 yards away. Now I have another problem …. like I said the weather started out sunny but as I was driving along ……. the weather changed to blowing snow and cloudy ….see my problem yet …. thats right wind and blowing snow …… and when you try to focus in on the subject in these conditions with small lenses, it’s hard enough…. but when you take these conditions and add on top a 400mm lens, plus a 2x extender …. then you have real problems …. So I hope you like what I did and I know that it’s soft on focus, but with the conditions …… I think you’ll like them.
